A trio of top tips from the latest round of NFL games

It’s crunch time for sides across the nation in NFL Week 9. In the AFC South, an expansive Jacksonville side bid to boost their growing dream of a playoff spot against a Cincinnati side who’ve dominated this fixture in recent years.

That’s the first of three key storylines the Coral News Team are focusing on ahead of another pulsating weekend of Gridiron action…

Jaguars must end Bengals blues for vital win

All in all, things are looking good for the Jacksonville Jaguars. After a dismal 3-13 season in 2016, the Jags have a 4-3 record going into Week Nine. But while opponents Cincinnati Bengals have been patchy this year, history is on the visitors’ side.

The Ohio franchise have won four meetings on the spin, including two victories in Jacksonville. However, they’ve enjoyed just two victories on the road in the last 14 months – a run of 10 games.

The odds have Money Line: Jacksonville at 2/5, but the Coral News Team think the best value lies in a comfortable victory for the hosts.

Each of the Jags’ four wins this year have come by a margin of over 20 points. JAX Jaguars – Total Points: Over 27.5 looks good at 5/2, while Winning Margin: 19-24 for the hosts is available at an appealing 8/1.

Hundley must prove his worth in NFC North battle

After Anthony Barr’s controversial challenge likely ended Aaron Rodgers’ season early in Green Bay Packers’ visit to Minnesota, backup Quarterback Brett Hundley was thrust into the line of duty. And so far, he’s failed to step up to the plate.

The 24-year-old threw three interceptions against the Vikings, with the Packers managing a total of 10 points – the lowest total the Wisconsin side had secured against their rivals in 22 meetings, dating back over a decade.

He was a little better against New Orleans Saints, but still threw a clumsy interception as Cheeseheads saw their side lose again. But after a Bye week where he’s had chance to compose himself and reflect, could Hundley come good?

If he’s ever going to get up and running, Monday night is the ideal opportunity.

The Pack host a Detroit Lions side who gave up 52 points in New Orleans during their last game on the road. With that in mind, the Coral News Team are tipping up GB Packers: Over 22.5 Total Points at Evens.

Battle of the Running Backs in Texas

Two of the NFL’s top three RBs this season face off as Kansas City Chiefs head to Dallas Cowboys.

Kansas’ Kareem Hunt has topped the charts with 763 yards this term, averaging a hugely impressive average of 5.2 per carry. As for the Cowboys, their own Ezekiel Elliott has produced six Touchdowns and 690 yards from his 164 carries.

Both should have plenty of opportunities to get over the line in this game. Kansas may be 6-2, but they have the joint-seventh worst defensive record in the NFL.

As for the Cowboys, they’ve 4-3, but have conceded more points than their division’s bottom side, 1-6 New York Giants.

With such high-quality runners and patchy defences on show, the 13/10 on this game producing Over 55 Total Points looks backable. Meanwhile, with Andy Reid’s men the better outfit overall, the KC Chiefs -1 handicap looks a value bet at 11/10.
