Bet of the Day: Man City to leave Leicester reeling in second half

Citizens have been brilliant after the break

Manchester City head to the King Power Stadium on Saturday looking for a 10th league win in succession. Their opponents are a Leicester City side sitting 12th in the Premier League. The Foxes have performed okay against the sides around them, but have now faced four of the top six this term without taking a point.

Generally, Leicester’s wobbles have come after the interval. Ten of the 16 goals they’ve conceded in the league have arrived in the second half. That problem is likely to be exposed by Pep Guardiola’s men – who have netted 15 times in 10 games after the break.

The Blues have outscored their opponents by a margin or two or more goals in the second half in seven of their last 14 outings.

Having won the second period 3-1 in their last away game, at Napoli, repeating that margin against a very ordinary Leicester side shouldn’t be too tough. Coral’s Bet of the Day is Second Half Handicap: Man City -1 at 19/10.

Stellar Sterling can get amongst the goals

Among City’s many excellent performers this season has been Raheem Sterling. The wing wizard has been especially ruthless in front of goal, with his effort at Napoli earlier this month taking the 22-year-old into double figures for the season.

He’s been especially effective against sides further down the table. Of his seven league goals this term, six have come against sides in the bottom half of the league.

That suggests Leicester should be prime prey for the England international. Especially so as the rapid Sterling will be up against ageing defenders like Christian Fuchs and Wes Morgan. Sterling to Score Anytime looks a good call at 7/5.

Foxes could also find the net

While the Coral News Team are tipping City to rack up the goals, they do think Leicester will give their fans something to cheer along the way.

The East Midlands outfit have registered in nine of their last ten meetings, while each of the last three Head-to-Heads have seen both sides find the net. As for the Citizens, while they’ve been unstoppable coming forward, they’ve also conceded five times in their last three matches.

With victory for the visitors looking a sure thing, Man City to Win and Both Teams to Score seems a value bet at 31/20.
