French veteran can be inspired again

Nicolas Mahut clashes with Filip Krajinovic in a Round of 16 match at the Rolex Paris Masters on Thursday.

The Serb is the favourite to progress but the Coral News Team have spied an angle that may prove profitable.

At 35-years-old, Mahut is a veteran of the ATP tour and is currently at a lowly 111th in the world rankings.

The Frenchman is a wildcard entrant at this event. But he cruised past the 8th seed, Pablo Carreno Busta, in straight sets in the previous round.

There’s an element of home turf inspiration about Mahut’s run to date. The highest ranking the Angers-born right-hander has ever reached is 37th. And that was back in 2014.

Krajinovic’s victory of Sam Querrey was just his second tour-level match win of 2017. And his first victory at an ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament in two-and-a-half years.

There is definite value in backing the home crowd favourite to continue his partisan run and defeat the 77th-ranked Serbian.

Coral’s Bet of the Day is Nicolas Mahut to beat Filip Krajinovic at 6/5.

A three-set battle awaits us

At 25-years-old, Krajinovic has age on his side, and arguably the talent, too. However, we know how up for this Mahut will be.

It’s worth noting the Serb has also played two more matches than the Frenchman in this tournament.

Fatigue could play a part here. And it’s been a long season. If Mahut is going to win this, he’s going to have to take it all the way.

Backing this clash to go Over 2.5 Sets at 6/5 is another bet worth taking.

Set Betting for the big win

Considering that the Coral News Team is backing the Mahut win in what could prove a titanic tussle, there’s one more bet worth considering.

The only time this pair met was at Wimbledon back in 2015. The French ace came out with the win in that clash 3-1 in sets.

Backing Mahut to come out on top again in the Set Betting could prove very profitable. The veteran is 10/3 to win 2-1.

Age, experience, head-to-head record, and hometown momentum – it’s all set up for another throwback win.
