NFL Week 7: Super Bowl rerun & Bills’ bid to keep Bucs quiet
Tampa ace has seven TDs and counting
There was plenty of drama and a few surprises in NFL Week 6. Kansas City Chiefs lost their perfect record with defeat against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Elsewhere, New York Giants secured a first victory of NFL 2017, breezing past an unusually flimsy Denver Broncos side.
Week 7 includes some intriguing encounters, most notably a rerun of Super Bowl LI as Atlanta Falcons visit New England Patriots. Elsewhere, there’s a crucial AFC East clash.
But first, the Coral News Team cast their eye over the Bucs’ visit to upstate New York…
Can solid Bills keep talented Tampa offense quiet?
As it stands, Buffalo Bills have conceded the fewest points in the entire NFL, giving up just 74 in their opening five games this season. However, with a fairly lightweight offense, they’ve still lost twice already, including a 9-3 defeat in Carolina.
This weekend, they host an inconsistent Tampa Bay Buccaneers side – albeit one with a strong offensive line. The Bucs have notched up 25+ points in three games this season, including a 29-7 demolition of Chicago Bears.
The question is whether the Bills can keep talented Bucs Quarterback Jameis Winston quiet, and interrupt his service to in-form wide receivers Mike Evans and DeSean Jackson. It’s certainly a big ask…
And with the Florida franchise having won three of the sides’ last four meetings, they should just about edge this once again.
Pats well-priced to see off Falcons once again
The Patriots’ Super Bowl LI comeback was the biggest in the showpiece’s history. Having trailed 28-3 in the Third Quarter, they recovered to break Atlanta Falcons’ hearts and lift the trophy. And Dan Quinn’s men have struggled to recover…
They head to Foxboro this weekend on the back of successive losses, including a first defeat to Buffalo Bills since 1995. That means revenge against Bill Belichick’s Pats looks unlikely.
Especially so with New England winning four from their last five, with only Houston Texans running them close. NE Patriots -4.0 looks a value bet at 11/10, while the Patriots -7.0 handicap could also prove popular at 19/10.
Crucial clash in tight AFC East
While New England sit top of AFC East, the division is already the tightest in the entire NFL. Buffalo, Miami Dolphins, and New York Jets are all one victory behind the Pats on Three. And the Dolphins travel to the Big Apple for a crucial clash this Sunday.
The Dolphins are currently the NFL’s lowest scorers, but also have the third-best defensive record of any side. That points to a tight and gritty contest with defences on top, so the 10/11 for Under 39.0 Total Points looks a very savvy bet.
With Miami edging past Tennessee Titans and Atlanta by six and three points respectively in their last two games, another narrow win could be on the cards. Winning Margin: Dolphins 1-6 could well come good at 12/5.
