Gustav Klimt new Guineas favourite as Expert Eye suffers Dewhurst defeat

Gustav Klimt heads Coral’s betting for next year’s QIPCO 2,000 Guineas at 7-1, after the former 3-1 favourite, Expert Eye, suffered a shock defeat in this afternoon’s Darley Dewhurst Stakes.  The winner of the Newmarket Group One, U S Navy Flag, is 8-1 (from 25-1) with Coral for the colts’ Classic, the same price as Expert Eye.

“Although we haven’t seen Gustav Klimt in public since his victory in July, the shock defeat of Expert Eye has left the Superlative Stakes winner clear at the head of the 2,000 Guineas betting, a position he could well hold onto as we head into the winter break,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
