Spurs can maintain their momentum from Madrid

Tottenham Hotspur finally won their first league game at Wembley by beating Bournemouth last weekend. They’ve got a much bigger test at their temporary home on Sunday, with Liverpool coming to visit.

Mauricio Pochettino’s team secured a very impressive draw away to Real Madrid in midweek. They’ll be full of confidence for this one and are unbeaten in their last ten games.

Liverpool won 7-0 against Maribor in the Champions League but they’ve struggled domestically recently. The Reds’ have won just one of their last six games in the top flight.

Their style could suit Tottenham too. Spurs have struggled at home against sides that are haoppy to sit deep and frustrate them. Liverpool won’t use that approach. They have a high-octane game that can be very effective going forward. But it does leave space to exploit at the back.

The Coral News Team have examined the stats and the Coral Bet of the Day is Tottenham to win and Over 2.5 Goals at 2/1.

Goals Galore?

Liverpool have conceded 12 goals in the league so far, the second-most of any side in the top half. They can’t rely on their defenders to keep goals out, so their best chance of winning is to blow teams away with their attacking play.

Even without the injured Sadio Mane, there’s plenty of quality in the final third, as their big midweek win showed.

Both teams like to press high and break at speed, which could lead to an open game at Wembley.

Both Teams to Score looks a safe call at 8/15.

Happy as Harry?

Harry Kane missed a great chance to score and potentially win the game against Real Madrid. Don’t expect him to make the same mistake again.

He’s likely to get a few chances against Liverpool, given their defensive record.

Kane’s scored six goals in his last five top-flight appearances. He’s 14/5 to score first against the Reds.
