Bet of the Day: Simpson to secure second victory at Windsor
Published:
Ed Walker’s charge returns to happy hunting ground
There’s a packed card at Windsor on Monday. But the best selection could come in the opening Nursery Handicap at 14:15.
Ed Walker’s Simpson returns to the scene of his sole career victory thus far, last month’s 1l success in front of the re-opposing Go Now Go Now.
And although Walker’s two-year-old gelding was a well-held beaten favourite in his subsequent outing at Yarmouth, the soft ground that day can be offered up as an excuse.
The expected good to soft going in Berkshire should be much more up his street and this likeable type can bounce back in style.
The Sylvester Kirk trained George is the highest rated horse in the field although he’s yet to tackle a mile. Christopher Wood and Royal Household are two other beaten favourites with points to prove, although the former is still relatively unexposed.
A few of these have chances but Simpson is the Coral Bet of the Day and the selection that can get the new week off to a flyer.
