Bet of the Day: Dusseldorf to win entertaining clash against Duisburg

| 02.10.2017

Flingeraner flying high at top of 2.Bundesliga

After a four-year absence from Germany’s top-tier, Fortuna Dusseldorf are currently on course to return to the big time. Robert Schafer’s men are challenging at the top of 2.Bundesliga and look set to boost their hopes with a home win over MSV Duisburg.

Things are going decidedly less well for Die Zebras. They’ve won just once in the last six games – a run which has included a 6-1 home defeat to Nurnberg.

However, it seems almost certain that we’ll see both sides find the net, with Duisburg scoring in eight of their last nine outings. As for Dusseldorf, they’ve registered in twelve on the bounce.

That all combines to make Coral’s Bet of the Day – Dusseldorf to Win and Both Teams to Score @ 13/5.

Margins are likely to be tight

Despite that pasting by Nurnberg, the majority of Duisburg’s recent defeats have come by far narrower margins. Five of their last seven losses have been by a single goal.

As for the hosts, four of Flingeraner’s last five games have seen Schafer’s men edge things by the odd goal.

It’s also worth noting that this fixture has been won by two or more goals on just one occasion in the previous six meetings. That means there’s plenty of value in the hosts to sneak a victory on Monday night.

Dusseldorf -1: Tie on Handicap is available at odds of 27/10.

Goals are virtually a given

Four of Dusseldorf’s last five games have produced three or more goals. That included a thrilling 3-2 home win over Union Berlin. However, Duisburg fans have seen even more goal drama – even if it hasn’t always been their side scoring.

Die Zebras’ last four games have produced a combined 19 goals, with Iliya Gruev’s men scoring eight of those. As it stands, the number of goals recorded in their goals is the league’s second-highest, behind only Darmstadt 98.

Two of the last three games between these sides have produced three or more goals, and there’s every reason to expect more of the same again. Over 2.5 Goals can be backed at 4/5.
