Coronet the big Leger marker mover as Frankie makes his choice

Published:

Coral has cut Coronet to 5-1 (from 7-1) for Saturday’s St Leger, after Frankie Dettori chose to ride the filly in the Doncaster Classic at today’s final declaration stage.  Stradivarius, who the Italian could have partnered, is eased to 8-1 (from 6-1), while Crystal Ocean and Capri head the betting as 7-2 joint favourites.

“The battle for Leger favouritism remains wide open, with Crystal Ocean and Capri currently heading the betting, but Defoe is only a point behind the front pair, and Coronet is the big market mover after the filly got the thumbs up from Frankie Dettori.  By contrast the Goodwood Cup winner Stradivarius continues to drift and is now double the price he was as recently as last week,” said Coral’s David Stevens.

A winning filly at Town Moor today, Laurens, is 33-1 (from 40-1) with Coral for next year’s QIPCO 1,000 Guineas.
