Bet of the Day: Man United to maintain excellent start against Saints
Jose Mourinho’s side have been scoring for fun this season
Manchester United have started the season in incredible fashion. The Red Devils have won six of their eight games so far and scored 24 goals along the way.
Incredibly, Mourinho’s men have scored four goals in half of their games. Given that they’ve had 94 shots in the Premier League already this season, United could well have scored a whole lot more.
Southampton, on the other hand, have looked far from impressive this season. The Saints have won just two of their five league matches. Against West Ham they required a 90th minute penalty, while Crystal Palace’s wastefulness in front of goal allowed them three points last weekend.
With United in such impressive form, the Coral News Team can’t see past another resounding away win in this one. Coral’s Bet of the Day is Manchester United to win and over 2.5 goals at 19/10.
Rashford to bag again
Marcus Rashford has been in excellent form of late. Since United’s 2-0 win over Leicester City in August, the 19-year-old has scored six goals in seven games for club and country.
Off the back of an impressive double against Burton Albion in midweek, Rashford is the man in-form. He’s an enticing 21/10 to score anytime at St Mary’s, while it’s a hefty 12/1 that he repeats his Carabao Cup brace against the Saints.
Goals to flow in the second half
Manchester United’s forte this season has been their proficiency in the second half of games. In the Premier League, 12 of their 16 goals have come in the second half. Their instinct for killing teams off is even more impressive. Nine of those 12 second-half strikes have come in the last 10 minutes of games.
The Red Devils have pace to burn and could stretch the hosts late on. With Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford to choose from, they look certain to get some joy in the wide areas.
As a result, it appears likely that spectators will be treated to some high-tempo attacking football after half-time. The Coral News Team like the look of over 2.5 goals in the second-half, which is on offer at 18/5.
