Czech ace set for a Semi-Final spot

The US Open action is about to heat up, with the Women’s Singles Quarter-Finals taking place. That includes an eye-catching tie between Petra Kvitova and Venus Williams.

The Czech ace has an excellent record against the elder Williams sister, winning each of the last three meetings. The previous two also came on hard court, the surface they will be playing on at Flushing Meadows.

However, the previous meetings have all been close-run things, with Kulova winning four of the five clashes 2-1. That means Coral News like the look of Set Betting: Kvitova 2-1 at 3/1.

Czech’s second-set streak to continue

In two of these players’ five prior encounters, the Bilovec native has won the second set 6-4. It’s also one we’ve seen from her recently, with the 27-year-old dispatching Caroline Garcia by that scoreline, to secure a two-set victory in the Third Round in Queens.

With the ageing Venus still possessing quality, but beginning to lose momentum after the first set with increasing regularity, Set 2 – Correct Score: Kvitova 6-4 looks generously priced at 5/1.

Kvitova looks well-placed for victory

The world number 14 hasn’t dropped a single set en route to this stage. While we think she’ll face the toughest test yet in Williams, there’s every chance Kvitova will reach the Semi-Finals.

Venus struggled past Spain’s Carla Suarez Navarro in three sets in her Fourth Round game, while Kvitova saw off world number three Garbine Muguruza in straight sets to reach this stage.

At odds of 4/6, it’s hard to look past Kvitova progressing at the expense of the American.
