Bet of the Day: In-form Man City to win big against Shakhtar

Guardiola’s men racking up the goals of late

Manchester City are absolutely flying at present. Pep Guardiola’s charges have won their last six games, scoring an incredible 24 goals in the process, and conceding just twice.

That imperious run is unlikely to change as they face Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League. The Ukrainian’s recent away record in this competition is as follows. Four successive defeats. Nine goals conceded, none scored.

The Citizens’ home record in this competition is also pretty special. Eight wins and two draws in 10 UCL outings at the Etihad have included a 4-0 demolition of Borussia Monchengladbach and a 3-1 defeat of Barcelona.

With Pep’s men racking up the goals and Kroty so poor on the European stage, Coral’s Bet of the Day is Manchester City -2 at 5/4.

Super Sane can do the damage again

It’s no surprise to see Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus at odds-on to score anytime against Paulo Fonseca’s men. However, it might surprise some to see the similarly in-form Leroy Sane priced at 6/4 in the Anytime Scorer market.

The German has chalked up five goals in as many games, including doubles in the victories over Liverpool (5-0) and West Bromwich Albion (2-1). He’s also not short of a goal in the UCL, netting in both legs of City’s dramatic exit to AS Monaco last term.

With Shakhtar’s defence ill-equipped to deal with a player of his pace and quality, Sane to Score 2 or More Goals could prove a very smart bet at odds of 15/2.

Sky Blues to produce another shutout

The hardy band of travelling fans are unlikely to have much at all to celebrate in the North-West. They’ve scored just once in seven UCL away games, and that came against a poor Rapid Vienna side.

As for Pep’s charges, they’ve conceded just five goals in their last 10 in all competitions on home soil. That includes shutouts against Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.

With that in mind, the Coral News team like the look of Man City to Win to Nil at odds of 5/4.
