Will it be the end for Frank de Boer?

Crystal Palace travel to Burnley this afternoon in search of their first Premier League points of the season. They haven’t scored a goal yet either.

It was always going to take time for Frank de Boer to implement a totally different style of play at Selhurst Park. The board are alarmed at how little progress has been made though.

Reports suggest De Boer needs a win to keep his job. It’s going to be tough. Wilfried Zaha has been ruled out with injury. And Burnley tend to be very hard to beat at home.

Taking all of that into consideration, today’s Bet of the Day is Burnley to Win to Nil at 5/2.

Wood to Score Again?

Chris Wood made a sensational impact on his Burnley debut against Tottenham Hotspur. He came on as a substitute to score an injury-time equaliser at Wembley.

Burnley’s record £15m signing scored a hat-trick for New Zealand against the Solomon Islands on international duty. He was then sent home early, so he’ll have had plenty of time to prepare for this game.

Wood could make his first start for the Clarets today. He’s 7/2 as First Goalscorer.

Safe Bet?

Palace have looked in disarray so far this season. The squad doesn’t seem to be suited to what De Boer is asking of them.

In contrast, Burnley have a clear identity under Sean Dyche. The team is well-organised. The players know exactly what each of their roles are.

With that in mind, backing Burnley in the Double Chance market at 1/3 looks like a tempting option.
