The Champion Jockey previews his Thursday rides following his 20/1 winner on Wednesday

1.50 Goodwood – Mutarabby

This horse beat me at Chelmsford the last time he was out, when I was on board Mukalal. He was slow away on that occasion and got up looking like a nice horse. He wouldn’t have encountered ground anywhere near as soft as this though.  The form says he beats our other runner, however, it is going to come down to who handles the ground the better. A lot of these top class horses want fast ground. Even if it stops raining, it is still going to take some time for the ground to dry out. We are going to see some more funny results for the rest of the week like we have had over the last couple of days.

2.25 Goodwood – Natural Scenery

My horse was second in the Northumberland Plate behind Higher Power on her last run so she looks to be a nice filly. It is a great ride to pick up. She is the second or third favourite and will have a strong chance as long as she handles the ground.

3.00 Goodwood – Nebo

I am glad we did not go for the Vintage Stakes for this horse. The drop down to 6f with cut in the ground should suit him. He ran a super race last time so I have to be very hopeful.

3.35 Goodwood – Queen’s Trust

Queens Trust

This is another great ride to pick up. She has a little bit of form on Good To Soft. Her best performances though have been in the Breeders’ Cup and in this race last year where she was second to Minding on Good ground. Winter is stepping up in trip and deserves to be favourite. Queen’s Trust was third last time out behind Highland Reel and Ulysses and that form has been boosted since. At the start of the week I thought this was one of my standout rides of the meeting, I just hope she copes with the ground.

6.25 Epsom – Rail Dancer

He’s won his last three races so he is in great form and I am hoping that can continue at Epsom.

6.55 Epsom – Motabassim

This horse has had a couple of goes so far so we will be hoping for a bit more from him on his third run.

7.30 Epsom – Coral Sea

Coral Sea will handle any cut the in ground. I rode her dam and she was a useful sort. She will also handle the track at Epsom so has obvious claims.

8.00 Epsom – Seduce Me

I won on this horse at Newbury last week. She should also handle the ground as she has won on Soft before.

8.30 Epsom – Grand Myla

I have not ridden this horse but hopefully she can be competitive and I can finish the day with a winner in the last.
