Leading bookmaker Coral are predicting that over £100 million will be bet on the Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor fight this weekend in the UK by the time the opening bell is rung in Vegas. McGregor, who is the underdog, has been subject to a huge gamble over the last week where his odds have been slashed into 10-3 (from 10-1) following the money behind the UFC man. Mayweather, on the other hand, is 2-9 (from 1-10) to win his 50th professional fight of his career.

In the method of victory market, Mayweather  is odds-on at 4-6 to win by stoppage. The American boxer is 11-4 to get the decision on points, while McGregor is 7-2 to stop his opponent inside the 12 rounds.

Coral has priced up a number of specials on the fight. They go 10-1 for McGregor to be disqualified for kicking Mayweather during the contest, the Irishman is 16-1 not to land a single punch in the bout and the pair are 3-1 not to touch gloves before the fight.

“This weekend’s fight will be the first £100 million betting contest in boxing as this contest has generated more interest than any other before in the sport,” said Coral’s John Hill.

“For once the bookmakers will be desperate for the favourite to win this fight otherwise £250 million will be paid out to punters in the UK who have backed McGregor to cause an upset,” added Hill.

“The most likely result according to the betting is for Mayweather to win inside the distance, however, over 80% of the bets we have taken in the market have been for McGregor to stop the unbeaten boxer,” concluded Hill.
