Bet of the day: Tuesday’s racing
Main hope rides at Leicester
What a Tuesday of sport we have ahead of us, including the UEFA Super Cup on planet football and plenty to pick through in the world of horse racing. Afternoon meetings have been scheduled at Catterick and Leicester, while Chelmsford, Nottingham, Cork and Roscommon take us through the evening.
As ever, you can get on every race at every meeting with Coral. Click here place your horse racing bets. Who knows, it could be your lucky day – why not shoot for the stars with a big price multiple? A few shrewd selections could really shake up your week.
Song Of Summer to double up
Our race-by-race selections, located further down the page, are designed to nudge you in the direction of a winner to two. Flick through the list and pick out your favourites. In terms of a NAP of the day, we put the microscope on Leicester, where a snappy six legs get started at 2.00pm. The winner of that, if our eye is in, will be Neverbeen To Paris.
We waste little time jumping in with our main play either – Song Of Summer in the 3.00pm fillies’ nursery. A long way from the most glamorous race of the week, but there will be a winner and, for us, that’s Archie Watson’s hopeful. The two-year-old filly got her maiden win last time out, scoring around Doncaster over the 6f trip. She’s back competing at that distance, and we should see more of the same.
2lbs rise is little concern
Despite going off as a 7/1 no hoper that day, Song Of Summer edged out race favourite Silca Mistress, winning a few admirers in the process. A gutsy late charge for the line got this filly home in front, and she’s primed to score a quick-fire double. The NAP has been budged up 2lbs as a result, but we’re confident she can take that on the chin.
That gives her a chance to go and have a crack at it on Tuesday, and there’s no doubt Song Of Summer has more to give. Not the best form in the race on paper, but plenty to like about the selection and connections go in high spirits. Let’s see her double up.
