Wings Of Eagles Heads Betting For Derby Double

| 01.07.2017

The Investec Derby winner, Wings Of Eagles, heads Coral’s betting for Saturday’s Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby at 15-8, ahead of the French raider Waldgeist, 5-2, after nine runners were declared for the Curragh Classic today.  The Epsom third, Cracksman, is an easy to back 3-1 third favourite, while the horse who finished one place behind him that day, Eminent, has been popular with the sponsor for the Coral-Eclipse, and is 5-1 (from 7-1) for the Sandown Group One.

“Having been a 40-1 outsider when winning at Epsom earlier this month, Wings Of Eagles now looks certain to start favourite as he bids to complete the Derby double, with the one time market leader Cracksman a very easy to back third favourite following the rainfall over the Curragh this week,” said Coral’s David Stevens.

“While the Epsom first and third renew their rivalry this weekend, next weekend will see the Investec Derby runner-up and fourth home line up against each other in the Coral-Eclipse, and while Cliffs Of Moher heads the Sandown betting, the upbeat reports from the Eminent camp have prompted market support for the son of Frankel today,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
