Three sides worth having
We saw domestic action return on Saturday with the first round of the Scottish League Cup, and there’s now less than four weeks before the English Premier League is back on our screens. Punters must snap out of holiday mode and prepare for what promises to be another thrilling campaign.
There’s enough going on across planet football to give us an interest on Sunday, with the Gold Cup taking centre stage. Jamaica and El Salvador face-off in what has been priced as a competitive encounter, and we pick the winner of that in our treble. Follow us in for a £10 stake and you could land a £57 pay-out, if all three teams do the business.
Jamaica beat El Salvador
Starting off with the Gold Cup and these rivals meet in an 11pm kick-off. Jamaica go into game three of the group stage with everything to play for. Win and they could leapfrog Mexico and finish top of the pool, lose and they’ll be dumped out of the top-two, passed by their opponents in the process. They did as expected last week when beating whipping boys Curacao 2-0, but would’ve probably hoped to score a couple more. That was followed with a 0-0 draw vs Mexico on Friday, a result that certainly deserves our respect. Their fate is in their own hands, and they should have enough big game experience to better an opponent smashed 3-1 by Mexico earlier in this tournament. With that in mind, and this being a must-win, Coral’s 6/5 looks a treat.
Molde beat Stromsgodset
Moving on to the Norwegian Tippeligaen and Molde are fancied to make home advantage count. The visitors haven’t had an awful lot to cheer about this season, and can be found down in the lower-half of the table as a result of their poor form. They were beaten 3-1 by Rosenborg recently, the latest in a four-match winless run. Molde are certainly no world beaters themselves, but punters can take heart from a recent 3-0 win vs Tromso, and they have been proving difficult to break down of late. 8/11 looks about right, and will do a job.
Cork beat Bray
Finishing up in the Irish Premier League, and it doesn’t take a lot to convince us to back Cork these days, or go against Bray for that matter. The visitors sit top of the league, and by some distance too. They have been simply stunning this season, and will end as convincing champions. Bray have been holding their own, but lost back-to-back against Limerick and Shamrock, leaking seven goals in the process. If Cork have their minds on the job, the 1/2 offered will look like a great price at full-time.
