Manny Pacquiao: smiling assassin
A reminder of just how good Pac Man is
Manny Pacquiao returns to the ring on Saturday evening for what will be the boxing superstar’s 68th professional outing. The Filipino puncher ducks between the ropes to face Jeff Horn with a record reading 59 wins, six defeats and two draws.
With the WBO world title on the line, it’s a chance for Pac to prove he’s still got it at this level of boxing, but against a little-known opponent, taking part in only his 17th paid contest, at an arena in Australia, it’s obvious Pacquiao’s best days are behind him.
That makes us sad, and we’ll preview Saturday’s fight in a bit more detail on the boxing section of our site, but before getting into all that, let’s remind ourselves just how good Pac Man was in his prime. Here’s Coral’s five favourite knockout wins…..
Ricky Hatton – 2009
Miguel Cotto – 2009
Erik Morales – 2006
Marco Antonio Barrera – 2003
David Diaz – 2008
