Our tipsters aim to continue their form

A glorious week of horse racing lies ahead, with the Goodwood Cup, Galway Mile, Lennox Stakes and Sussex Stakes just some of the highlights over the next few days. We ease into the week, with meetings scheduled at Ayr, Newton Abbot, Windsor, Wolverhampton and Galway.

Race of the day goes in the form of the Eventus Handicap in Ireland at 8.10pm, but our NAP is out in the afternoon, as part of an eight-race card at Ayr. Followers of our predictions have been raking in the profits of late, and you can follow our thoughts on Monday below. Read on for our tips, or click here to place your singles and multiples.

Kevin Ryan

Weekend Offender to lead the way

The curtain goes up at the Scottish track with a novice stakes, due to post at 1.30pm. Cosa Nostra gives us an interest there, but the runner taken to continue our impressive form is Weekend Offender in the 4.00pm. The Western House Handicap, settled over one mile two furlongs, has eight runners marked down, but Kevin Ryan’s representative will show them the way home.

The four-year-old gelding, ridden by jockey Tom Eaves, has let punters down in the past, there’s no getting away from that, but he is capable of a big performance when in the mood, and we’re hoping he fancies it today. The selection was pulled-up at Hamilton on his penultimate start, and finished in mid-division at York earlier this month, but he’s better than that.

Kings Fete Goodwood

Trip plays to his strengths

Those disappointments aside, Weekend Offender is an improving sort, and impressed when winning at York over a mile late last year. Has won three of his last nine, and finished in the top-three six times during that run. We are, at the very least, guaranteed a run for our money with the selection, and there’s reason to be confident.

Monday’s test goes as the first time Weekend Offender has raced further than a mile, but we’re sure that’ll play to his strengths. There’s not an awful lot in terms of competition that’s going to worry us, and we’re more than happy to stick with Kevin Ryan’s hope.
