NAP goes north of the border

It may be Monday, but there’s no easing in to the week. We have a monumental few days of racing ahead, including the King George VI Stakes on Saturday, but before getting in to that, we aim to boost your profits at Ayr.

Seven legs from the Scottish course get started at 1.55pm, and we have Regulator marked down as the winner of the first. Coral punters looking to try their luck on a big price accumulator can pick and choose the best of our race-by-race selections below, while we talk you through our NAP on the card. Pick arrives in fine form

Not the best racing we’ll witness this week, but there’s winners to be found in every contest, and we aim to nudge you in the right direction. Our strongest play of the day lines up in the 3.05pm, a five furlongs handicap, with 11 runners expected. A good case could be made for a few of these, but Royal Brave goes as the standout for Rebecca Bastiman.

We pin our hopes on this course and distance winner, who arrives at Ayr in fine form. There’s little doubt the experienced six-year-old gelding loves it around here, and we’re looking for another example of that. He scored over track and trip back in May, winning a handicap ahead of runner-up Aprovado, a head the difference that day.

Royal Brave worth sticking with

There was plenty to like about that effort. Delivered to perfection, he quickened in the final strikes to get home in front, showing every bit of his experience to bank the prize money. That was his third win in-a-row, and he has been kept busy in 2017 already, ensuring fitness won’t be an issue. Since that trio, he has run twice, placing at Musselburgh and finishing fourth here two weeks ago.

There’s a couple that could be considered dangers, but Royal Brave was really impressive when landing that hat-trick and we’re more than happy to keep faith and take him for a return to the winner’s enclosure. His best will be enough to seal the deal.
