Trader’s Tips – Royal Ascot Day Three

We ask our resident racing trader for his tips from Thursday’s action

After a not too glorious start, our resident Racing Trader Jason Ryan got back on form, tipping up French raider Le Brivido to win the Jersey Stakes – and win he did. That sets us nicely for day three, so let’s take a look at what Jason’s got his eye on today…

Thursday 3.05 – Hampton Court Stakes

RP ID00252926

The French Classic form was given a timely boost yesterday as Le Brivido took the Jersey Stakes in snug fashion and while ORDEROFTHEGARTER was a long way behind both him and Bramtetot in the French 2000 Guineas, he reduced that deficit on the latter to an unlucky three lengths in the French Derby at Chantilly, suggesting that better ground and the step up in trip was more to his liking. He gets similar conditions today and from a good draw with cheek-pieces applied for the first time, he’s sure to prove hard to beat.

Thursday 3.40 – Ribblesdale Stakes

The impeccably bred MORI bids to follow in the footsteps of her half-sister Riposte, who won the race in 2013 for Lady Cecil, by winning the Ribblesdale Stakes and giving her sire, Frankel, yet another pattern class winner. A winner at this course over 10f’s in May, Mori shaped like a filly who would relish a step-up to 1m4f and the manner of her victory at Goodwood last time out suggests she’s a filly with the potential to be top class. Alluringly has the best form in the race, finishing third  in the Oaks but she was a long way behind another Khalid Abdullah filly that day and if Mori is as good as I think she is, Alluringly will be a long way behind the famous green, pink and white silks again today.
