Departing Chelsea captain may retire
John Terry led his Chelsea side out at Stamford Bridge on Monday night to celebrate yet another title win. The blue-blooded England defender has given the best years of his career to the Stamford Bridge side, and made an emotional farewell in a thrilling 4-3 win over Watford.
JT marked the occasion by getting up to score the opening goal of the evening on 22 minutes, something he was become famous for during his time at the club. The 36-year-old Londoner will leave the stadium on Sunday for the last time, and told reporters recently that he is seriously considering retiring from the game.
The vastly-experienced stopper will have no lack of admirers in the summer, trying to convince him to stay on, and Swansea have been the first club to make their feelings clear, but what a way to go out if he does, with his beloved club back on top of English football.
The bridge certainly won’t be the same without him. Terry – a tough-tackling, goal scoring, joker – isn’t the most-liked player in the game, most of that his own fault, but he is, by far, the most-respected. Here’s five things we’ll miss about John Terry…..
