Frankie is the bookies’ best friend with Oaks success

| 02.06.2017

So long the scourge of the bookmakers, jockey Frankie Dettori came to the layers rescue today, when riding Enable to victory in the Investec Oaks, in the process denying odds-on favourite Rhododendron.

“Following her stablemate Highland Reel’s victory in the Coronation Cup, Rhododendron became the key horse for many punters, and having been backed into 8-11, an Oaks victory for the favourite would have been particularly costly for us,” said Coral’s David Stevens.

“However, on this occasion it was our old nemesis Frankie Dettori who came to our rescue, and his winning ride on Enable was one big race success for the popular Italian we were happy to watch,” added Stevens.
