Roly Poly

Real improvement from Dichato last time

Seven legs get started at 2.10pm, and we go all in on the opener. A novice stakes run over six furlongs, Dichato is fancied by the market to win the race, and we find ourselves in complete agreement with the traders. Ryan Moore riding for John Gosden, that’s sure to catch the attention of casual backers, but there’s a lot to like about this colt.

A promising two-year-old, he got a look around Haydock on debut earlier this year, an outing that did little other than to introduce him to the horse racing scene. With that under his belt, Dichato improved in his second of two career starts, placing over track and trip under three weeks ago. Beaten by race favourite Folk Talk in a bunch finish, connections will take plenty of heart from that run.

NAP goes in safe hands

Going off at a big price that day, with Dettori on his back, those who saw the race could not help but notice the way Dichato responded when pushed going for home. Asked by Frankie to find more, he was seen driving for the line, and if delivered a touch earlier, who knows what would’ve happened. We’re hoping to see further improvement here.

A well-bred sort, there’s no doubt the NAP has more to give, and he goes in safe hands on Thursday, with Ryan Moore boasting great form at this track, and an even better reputation of getting favourites home in front. He’ll drag the best out of Dichato.
