Trainer has won last two Queen Mary Stakes

With the Royal Ascot meeting now in full swing, we go into Wednesday’s card in high spirits, our NAP Ribchester doing as expected on Tuesday to delight followers. Building on that is our number one priority.

The curtain goes up at 2.30pm with the group three Jersey Stakes providing the first of the day’s six races. There’s winners to be found – click here to pick your best, or build big price multiples. We give our strongest play in an attempt to go two for two, while followers of our race-by-race selections will find them laid out below.

Acapulco

Happy Like A Fool proved her worth last time

Ribchester boosted our balance in the first on Tuesday, and we waste no time going in with our Wednesday NAP, which lines up in the second race on the schedule, the Queen Mary Stakes. A fillies group two contest, decided over the snappy five furlongs trip, Coral traders have Happy Like A Fool marked up as a strong favourite for the win, and I must say I can see where they’re coming from on that one.

The Wesley Ward prepped jolly has already proven her worth over today’s trip, scoring on debut around Keeneland back in April. The eye-catching two-year-old claimed a maiden that day, going off as favourite, and there was plenty to like about the way she handled herself. Leaving the chasing pack for dead, anyone who caught the race will be more than happy to trust her with their stake money again here.

Ward’s form in this race is difficult to ignore

What makes the selection a standout, above all else, is Wesley Ward, who goes into the day looking to land what would be a stunning three wins in-a-row here. He claimed the Queen Mary Stakes prize money last year with Lady Aurelia, Frankie Dettori onboard for that one, and that followed the success of Acapulco for Ryan Moore in 2015.

Moore is back in the saddle again here, and that has got to catch the attention of punters still undecided on the outcome of this one. All the talk in the antepost market has been about Happy Like A Fool, and there has been a lot of shrewd money coming in for her. She’s been aimed at this race for a while now, and with her opening price of 6/4 attracting early support, our mind is made up.
