Mexico vs Russia headlines
It’s the highlight of the sporting week, and there’s lots for Coral punters to sink their teeth into on Saturday, including Royal Ascot and a busy round of football fixtures. Matches go in the U21 European Championships, as well as the Confederations Cup.
Mexico vs Russia looks to be the highlight, and we give our opinion on the winner of that one in our Saturday football accumulator, designed to boost your bank balance. Follow us in and every £10 down returns £182.50, if our thinking proves to be shrewd.
Germany U21 beat Italy U21
This promises to be a real treat for those who have been following the U21 Euros, where England booked their place in the semi-finals on Thursday. Germany look set to join them, and they could do it with a 100 per cent record, having already swept past Czech Republic and Denmark, both without conceding a goal. Italy could be eliminated, having lost last time out vs the Czechs. 13/10 about the Germans is a fine way to get the ball rolling.
Czech Republic U21 beat Denmark U21
Czech Rep need a win if they are to qualify, having lost to Germany and beaten Italy. They could do with Germany doing them a favour in the group’s other game of the day, but the team know three points would see them progress. Thankfully for fans, they line-up against a Danish side who have failed to put a point on the board so far, losing each of their two matches, conceding five goals and failing to score any of their own. 4/6 on Czech Republic makes sense.

Mexico beat Russia
Moving on to the Confederations Cup and this looks to be one for the purists. Mexico are top of the group, despite an opening day draw with Portugal, and they’ll know the win will push them over the line, but there’s plenty left to play for here. Russia in third are just a point behind, with the Portuguese sandwiched between the pair. Any one of three sides could win the pool, but we’re going with Mexico to edge it. Russia were beaten 1-0 last time, and Coral’s 11/8 looks value.
Portugal beat New Zealand
Surely banker of the night, as Portugal, chasing top spot in Group A, set their sights on blasting a sorry looking New Zealand side who are bottom of the pile, without a point on the board. The selections battled to a narrow win over Russia last time, and will be looking to build on that now things are getting serious. They are 1/12 to claim the victory, and that’s what they should be.
NY Red Bulls beat NY City
We finish up in the MLS on Saturday evening and a fascinating New York derby match. Red Bulls boast the far superior head-to-head record, and they extended that with a passionate 1-0 win over their rivals last time at the Red Bull Arena, Royer nabbing the winning goal in the second half. We’re taking the 17/20 about a repeat performance.
