Form racing tips aiming for five

Goodwood dominates the thinking of horse racing punters on Friday, as we go into the final weekend of May. We have betting on all the day’s action, and you can have your say right here at Coral – the home of value.

Thursday saw us continue our stunning recent form, bagging a fourth winning NAP on the bounce. That means we’ve had a reason to cheer every day so far this week, and with plenty of profit in the satchels of followers, we go into the weekend with confidence.

Will that run stretch to a high-five? We’re hopeful, and you’ll find our pick of a seven-race card at Goodwood below, or if you skip to the bottom of the page, accumulator backers are given a selection in every race.

Saunter

Favourite worth opposing

Mother Of Dragons is picked out to get us off to a flyer in the opener, due to post at 2.00pm, but those who want to follow our best of the card will be sitting on their hands until the 3.45pm Cocket Hat Stakes, a listed race, run over the one mile three furlongs trip. Six runners have been penned in here, with Coral traders having Raheen House as the early favourite, currently doing the rounds as 7/4 jolly.

There looks to be enough in the field to take the shortest price on however, and we throw our weight behind the chances of The Grand Visir to go and cause an upset. The three-year-old colt is a product of the great Frankel, and that is sure to see him attract plenty of attention on the day with casual punters, and why not?

The Grand Visir to come on

He was seen making a winning debut at Yarmouth earlier this month, getting up to beat Fibonacci by a neck, in what rates as a fairly uninspiring field. The William Haggas trained hopeful did get the desired result however, and connections are fully confident he has plenty more to give, and will come on plenty for that win.

The trainer arrives at course with confidence onside, boasting a strong month so far, and has enjoyed his share of joy in previous runnings of this race, winning with Storm The Stars a couple of years ago. Pat Cosgrave was the jockey that day, and he does the steering again here, which rates as another plus point, but what makes the selection easy to chance is his price. Our traders are giving out an eye-catching 4/1, and that looks too good to ignore.
