BIG price Friday football acca
£1 pays £487 if we are right
Coral’s football punters are treated to a long weekend of betting action, with Championship and lower league matches scheduled for Friday and Monday, while there’s the usual Premier League, Scottish and European interest on Saturday.
It’s a great time to be a football backer, and gives us a perfect chance to land a big price accumulator. We have trawled through the fixtures and return with eight teams that should do us proud. Small stakes for big returns is the aim of the game here, with every £1 paying a whopping £487.38, if our luck is in. Read on as we flick through the contenders.
Fulham beat Norwich
We start as we mean to go on, with a bold call at a great price. Fulham are battling for a place in the play-offs, but time is running out for The Cottagers and they must put together a winning run that will see them over the line. Draws have cost them dear of late, so they have to be ruthless, but they’re picked to edge out a Norwich side who are hit-and-miss. Norwich won 7-1 last time, lost 3-0 and 2-0 the games before. That sums up their season. We go with the form side at 9/5.
Huddersfield beat Preston
The Terriers will be playing play-off football, but they know the value of finishing third, and are currently in the bronze medal position. They have been below par in recent starts, losing three of their last four as they stagger over the line, but home advantage should count against a Preston side who have also won just one of their last four. 4/5 on the locals looks the smart play here.
Nottingham Forest beat Blackburn
Another big call, and you won’t find us tipping Forest up too often. They’re down in 19th, just five places above the relegation zone, but have a new manager in Mark Warburton who is trying to drill his attacking style into them. They can score their way out of this situation, and will find plenty to get excited about in Blackburn’s -16 goal-difference tally. 6/5 is about fair, and does a job.
Sheffield Wednesday beat Cardiff
We saw from Wednesday’s last effort, when beating Newcastle 2-1, that they are up for the fight that lies ahead. Fulham are snapping away at their heels for a place in the top-six, but The Owls have worked hard over the course of the season to get here, and won’t give up their slot without a fight. The Bluebirds are an inconsistent lot, who don’t have much to play for. Wednesday at 17/20.
Brighton beat Wolves
Brighton are so close they can almost taste that title winning champagne, and it’ll be twice as nice if they can get home as champions, against the expectations of everyone. The Seagulls have made a nuisance of themselves, refusing to go away, and sit in front, two ahead of Newcastle. Win here and that’ll stretch to five. Wolves were beaten well by Bristol City last time, which doesn’t look great. 7/5 Brighton.
Ipswich beat Burton
Ipswich are an easy side to back when playing Burton. Albion are hovering around the drop zone, showing five points more than Blackburn, and have managed just three wins in 10. I’d be surprised if they went down, but I’d be surprised if they won here. Ipswich taken in a close match at 5/2.
Bradford beat Oxford
Dropping into League One for a single pick and we have The Bantams, who you will see on your play-off fixture list soon enough. Stuart McCall’s side have hit form at the right time, winning each of their last two, and five of seven. Oxford have won just two of their last seven and are now running down the clock. 4/5 Bradford should do us a favour.
Portsmouth beat Plymouth
And we finish off with a brave call. Pompey go in on the back of three wins in-a-row, and have won six of their last seven. They are sprinting towards the finish line, and if they had found this form a bit earlier, they could’ve been challenging for a title. Plymouth are ranked a place higher in second, but Fratton Park will be packed out, just like the old days, and that will make a difference. We back home comforts at 4/7.
