Impressive Casse Tete to go again

NAP goes in the form of Casse Tete in the 3.05pm novices chase, a two-miles five-furlongs contest. Traders appear to have overlooked this progressive five-year-old gelding, but he done more than enough to catch my attention when romping to a first career win at Sandown last time out.

He absolutely smashed the field that day, with The Fresh Price trailing home a full 27-lengths behind. Scoring off a decent SP, he didn’t have everything all his own way, and there wouldn’t have been much money on him in-running, but once he hit the front the selection took off, with the race on for second from two out.

That would’ve come as no surprise to followers, as he had been inching towards a big effort for a while. A steady jumper, I expect this race to play to his strengths. Don’t be alarmed if he’s off the pace in the early exchanges, as he’s expected to deliver late again. Anything like last time and we’ll have a winner on our hands.

Monsieur to prove a point

In the lucky last on the schedule we side with Monsieur Gibraltar. Rose Loxton sends out her five-year-old, who is another bringing plenty of form into this race. He was seen winning last time around Taunton in February and seems like a new horse following the switch in yards.

He has plenty of pace and looks likely to show it against a pretty uninspiring field. Loads of form and confidence with this one, he has also been impressing between the points, and the talent is certainly there to see him bank the prize money.
