Six of the best bets from across Europe
Arsenal vs Man City headlines Sunday’s football card, but there’s plenty going on across Europe, including an Edinburgh – Glasgow battle in Hearts vs Celtic from the Scottish Premiership, and a hectic afternoon in the Italian Serie A.
Click here to place your accas, or read on as we put forward our punchy six-fold, where every £5 invested pays £200.40 if everything falls into place. Prices and returns are correct at the time of writing. Let’s run through our hopefuls, starting with the English Premier League…..
Man City beat Arsenal
Game of the day, by a fair stretch, and Arsenal look to extend their recent unbeaten home run against rivals Manchester City. Regulars at the Emirates have not had an awful lot to shout about this season however, and they go into the round level on points with seventh-place Everton. The numbers against manager Arsene Wenger are growing by the game. City travel to London unbeaten in their last seven league starts, and took a 2-1 win over Arsenal in the reverse of this fixture. They have won their last three league away days without conceding, and make sense at 13/10.
Swansea beat Middlesbrough
The Swans aren’t what you’d call a reliable side to have in your accumulator most weekends, but they must be trusted at home against a struggling Boro. Middlesbrough have lost each of their last three, and now find themselves second bottom of the league going into the round, two points better than Sunderland. They promised much in the summer, but will be making a quick-fire return to the Championship. The Welsh club have lost each of their last two, but do boast home wins over Burnley, Leicester and Southampton this year. With that in mind, Coral’s 19/20 looks decent.
Celtic beat Hearts
Moving to the Scottish top-flight and The Bhoys are within touching distance of another league crown. We’ve not seen them in better shape than Brendan Rodgers has the Glaswegians at the moment, but it’s all going wrong for Ian Cathro over at Tynecastle. With large sections of the support already against him, the Edinburgh side have lost three of their last four. Celtic remain unbeaten this season, and can add another win here at a cracking 4/9.

AC Milan beat Pescara
The first of two matches taken in from Serie A and Milan are an obvious pick against a Pescara who are rock-bottom of the rankings and have lost nine of their last 10. Incredibly, they have conceded 30 goals during that horrible run, and should be in for a difficult afternoon again on Sunday. Milan have won four of their last five, and can enhance that. 8/15 looks generous.
Chievo beat Crotone
Another poor Italian side, Crotone are second bottom and look way out of their depth at this level. Winless in eight, they have lost seven of those starts, and were beaten by Fiorentina last time. Opponents Chievo have won two of their last four games without conceding, and will fancy their chances of more. Pick up 5/6 at Coral, another nice price.
Nice beat Bordeaux
Lastly, we drop in on matters in the French top-flight, and this one should boost up our returns. Nice enter third in the league, unbeaten in seven and showing just one defeat in 10. That form must be respected, and they are taken on their own patch against a Bordeaux who have won just one of three. Home comforts make the difference at 5/4.
