Arsenal headline our eight-fold

There’s plenty for Coral football punters to dive into on Easter Monday, with a busy round of fixtures topped by Arsenal’s trip to Middlesbrough in the Premier League. Before things are settled at the Riverside, there’s Championship, League One and League Two ties to sort through.

It gives us another chance to boost your bank balance with a winning acca. As usual, it’s all about a big pay-out for small stakes, adding to your enjoyment of the card. Below you will find our specially selected eight-fold, which pays a whopping £437.75 for every £5 bet. Prices and returns are correct at the time of asking. Let’s run through the reasons for each.

Arsenal beat Middlesbrough

I wouldn’t call Arsenal a reliable side at the minute, and they seem to be going from bad to worse as Wenger clings on for dear life. They will get nothing out of this season, certainly not the top-four finish that was expected of them back in the summer, and they go to the Riverside down in seventh. That’ll be tough to take for their long-suffering fans. One crumb of comfort however is that Boro are worse off, much worse. They are second-bottom of the league, with their last 10 results reading six defeats and four draws. Away day makes sense at 4/7.

Fulham beat Aston Villa

Moving on to an important day in the Championship, and this looks game of the round there. Fulham are breathing down the neck of Sheff Weds, hoping beyond hope that The Owls will slip up and gift them a place in the play-offs. There’s more at stake for the Londoners here, and for that reason we oppose a Villa who are winless in two, at 3/4.

Brighton beat Wigan

The Seagulls look like they are actually going to do it, they will win the league. That’ll certainly be the case if they can continue their winning run. They have won each of their last four, hitting form when it matters. They go into the round four better than Newcastle and now target another three points when meeting a Wigan side down in the relegation zone. 1/2 is fair, and helps us out.

Newcastle beat Ipswich

I expect Newcastle to fare better on the road, free from the unrelenting pressures of St James Park. The Magpies have taken just one point from the last six, but every game is a must-win for them now. We’re giving them another chance against an Ipswich who have won just two of their last 10, and a team with nothing to play for. 3/4 looks a great play.

Coral's bet of the day for January 2nd features promising Newcastle odds.

Reading beat Rotherham

Since losing 7-1 to Norwich in that humiliating result, The Royals have wiped their chin and got back in the mix with an impressive win over Aston Villa at the weekend. Bouncing back showed the character of the team, and they are now just a point off third. Rotherham are rock bottom of the league, and hopeless. 2/5 is probably what it should be.

Fleetwood beat Millwall

Fleetwood are hunting down Bolton for a place in the top-two, and have a chance of dodging the lottery that is play-off football. The Trotters have lost each of their last two, and The Trawlermen must take advantage. Millwall have plenty to worry about themselves, but we’re going with the value about home advantage here, with our traders giving 7/4.

Rochdale beat Coventry

Let’s focus on just how bad Coventry are this season. The Sky Blues are bottom and have no chance of saving themselves. They will be playing League Two football next season, and that will hurt everyone at the club. Rochdale are 1/2, which jumps aboard.

Hartlepool beat Leyton

This is a big call, but Hartlepool could keep their place in League Two, while Leyton are down and out, no matter what happens here. There’s just a point between The Monkey Hangers in 22nd and Newport in 23rd, but County are improving, meaning Hartlepool must keep pace. We roll the dice on 11/10 an away day.
