Laura Muir has been cut into 11-1 (from 25-1) to be crowned the BBC Sports Personality of the Year for 2017 after she won double gold at the European Indoor Championships. Anthony Joshua currently heads the betting at 11-4 for the award, last year’s winner Andy Murray is 5-1, while Tony Bellew is now 33-1 (from 100-1) following his success over David Haye last night in their heavyweight clash at the O2 Arena.

“It’s been another huge major championship for Laura Muir and after double gold in Belgrade, her odds have been slashed to be crowned the BBC Sports Personality of the Year for 2017 where she is now right at the top end of the betting for the award,” said Coral’s John Hill.

“Tony Bellew has attracted a flurry of bets following his victory over David Haye to win the prestigious accolade, however, it is another boxer in Anthony Joshua who tops the betting to be awarded the prize later this year,” added Hill.
