Dan Skelton talks us through his Cheltenham Day Two runners…

Coral Cup – 2.50 Cheltenham

I am really happy with Mister Miyagi. He went for a gallop at Warwick a couple of weeks ago and I was delighted with what he did. He looks great, the forecast is looking good and with Modus running, it keeps the weight right. If he is ever going to win a race at the Festival then this is going to be it. He has great course and distance form. He will need things to go right for him because he will be dropped in but I think he has a chance.

Fred Winter Juvenile Hurdle – 4.50 Cheltenham

One of the reasons I am running Fadas in this race is because Paul Nicholls thinks so much of Dreamcatching who she finished third behind at Wincanton last month. I’ve used cheekpieces at home and I have put a tongue-strap on her in case that will help her. I’ve only had one run with her so I don’t actually know that much about her if I am being honest. If she won I would not be amazed but at the same time This is obviously very competitive. I am going there as aggressive as I can be to give her a chance.

Champion Bumper – 5.30 Cheltenham

I hope what we have seen and are lead to believe about Cause Toujours is not too good to be true. He was fantastic around Warwick in a bumper. I know the form of that race has not worked out that well but he can only beat what is put in front of him. He returned to Warwick for a gallop with Mister Miyagi and North Hill Harvey which I was happy with. There are a lot of horses in this who are unbeaten and have a big reputation just like my runner. The ground and pace of the race is going to suit him. I go there with a lot of confidence in the horse. At the end of the day though, it is only his second start for us. We have put the balloon in the air and it could burst. We are really privileged to have the horse though and I hope he can do us all proud.

Cheers,

Dan
