£5 Sunday acca pays over £180
Five of the best from Sunday’s lot
The World Cup qualifiers roll into Sunday, with three of the four home nations in action. There’s no lack of live football to enjoy, and Coral offer a number of betting markets on every tie, aimed at spicing up your day.
We give our views on the best way to profit from proceedings, with our punchy five-fold, covering the international matches as well as a couple from the English lower leagues. Every £5 staked returns £181.40, if we are on target, with prices and returns mentioned correct at the time of writing.
Northern Ireland beat Norway
Northern Ireland are well-placed to finish behind Germany in Group C, but they have Azerbaijan for company at the minute. Their rivals face Germany, and are expected to lose heavily, meaning Michael O’Neill’s side must take full advantage of the situation. They face a Norway side who are not themselves, second bottom of the pool with three defeats from four. The locals make sense at 11/8.
Scotland beat Slovenia
There has been little for the Tartan Army to get excited about in this World Cup qualifier, yet again, and they have lost each of their last two – vs Slovakia and England – by a 3-0 score. Slovenia are second top, with a CV reading two wins and two draws, but they scraped past Malta last time, which is less than convincing. A big night in Glasgow, Scotland need to deliver at 11/8.
England -1 beat Lithuania
We have previewed this match in a bit more detail elsewhere on the site, but the reasons for backing England are obvious. They have beaten Lithuania with plenty to spare in the two previous matches involving these sides, both without conceding a goal. Therefore, home win -1 on the handicap goes in at 2/5.
Bradford beat Scunthorpe
We are treated to domestic action before all that, and fourth plays fifth in a League One play-off battle. This promises to be a tense affair, but the bare stats push us towards The Bantams at 13/8. They won last time out and have lost just one of their last 10 league goes. Scunthorpe lost last time out and have won one of their last 10. Following the form seems shrewd.
Doncaster beat Plymouth
League Two leaders Donny are expected to go out and impress on Sunday in front of a bumper audience. Opponents Plymouth are second, and will be eager to keep their title challenge alive, but Rovers have won each of their last three, and confidence is sky-high. They are backed at a useful 3/4.
