Leicester beat Hull
Fresh from slapping down Liverpool at the King Power just five days ago, the born-again Leicester City will be eager to make it two wins in a week when entertaining fellow relegation contenders Hull City. The Tigers have been woeful on their travels this season, and with Jamie Vardy scoring three goals in his last two games, we take the hosts to start us off at 17/20.
Southampton beat Watford
Whoever ridiculed the January transfer market obviously never picked up a bargain like Manolo Gabbiadini. The Italian hitman has totally transformed The Saints’ attack since arriving in the winter from Napoli, and really should have got a hat-trick against Manchester United at Wembley last week. He’s a man loving English football and should play a major part here. Southampton at 6/5 looks value.
Fulham beat Preston
The Cottagers remain in the hunt for a place in the play-offs and go into the weekend unbeaten in four, a run showing three wins and a draw. The Londoners have scored 10 goals in that period. Preston are in fine form themselves, and fancy a crack at extending their season, but Fulham should make home advantage count at 3/4.
Brighton beat Nottingham Forest
Brighton will be seething at losing two late goals to turn victory over Newcastle into defeat in midweek. They had the chance to really take control of the Championship title race, but won’t dwell on it and look to have been given the perfect chance to bounce back. Forest are winless in four, losing three, and are easy to oppose at 19/20.
Bolton beat AFC Wimbledon
The Trotters must get a move on if they are to make anything of their push for a return to the Championship. They’ve been inconsistent of late, failing to win any of their last three, but they’re just a couple of points off the top-two automatic promotion slots and now face an AFC Wimbledon with little to play for. Bolton at home looks worth a go at 19/20.
Rangers beat Hamilton
It’s hard work picking Rangers wins recently, but they are making real progress in their bid to appoint a new manager and stand-in Graeme Murty will want to hand over a side who still have half a chance of winning a trophy. This remains Rangers only chance at silverware, and at Ibrox they’re taken to beat Accies at 4/11.
Hibs to beat Ayr
Sticking with the Scottish Cup and Hibs are a sensible pick vs fellow Championship side Ayr United. It would rate as a massive shock if The Hibees went out now, at home, after eliminating rivals Hearts. Ayr have won just one of their last 10 Scottish Championship games, and we go Neil Lennon at 1/4.
Kilmarnock beat Motherwell
The Well are in a sorry state at the minute and were beaten 5-1 by Dundee in the Premiership last time out. They’ve now lost each of their last four at that level, while Killie scored a confidence booster when beating St Johnstone 2-0. Kilmarnock are overpriced at 11/10.
