Huddersfield beat Bristol City

The Terriers travel to Ashton Gate and the challenge of lowly Bristol City for the latest instalment of Sky Sports Friday Night Football. Victory for the away side would move them to within three points of leaders Newcastle, overnight at least.

All the talk in the division is about Newcastle and Brighton, but Huddersfield remain in the hunt for the title, and must be fancied against a Robins side who are stuck in the relegation zone, with just two wins managed in their last 10. Huddersfield won the reverse of this fixture 2-1 in December, and are taken again at an incredible 7/5.

Villarreal beat Las Palmas

This looks a tricky one, with both La Liga sides very capable on their day. Villarreal have it all to do going on the road, but they travel in a fantastic run of form, winning each of their last three at this level, beating Osasuna, Espanyol and Celta Vigo in the process. They are up in fifth, have plenty more to play for, and with just two defeats in their last 10, one of those vs Real Madrid, I make them a sound investment. Coral traders are giving 17/10, and again that’s much bigger than I expected.

Dortmund beat Ingolstadt

Moving to the Bundesliga, and Dortmund fans have had lots to cheer about of late, both domestically and on the continent. They whacked Benfica 4-0 in the Champions League last week to overturn a one-goal deficit, and are sitting third in the Bundesliga. Confidence is high, and they should know enough to get past Ingolstadt at 1/4.

Twente beat Roda

Twente were hammered by Ajax last time out, but that was to be expected before the off, and there’s certainly no shame in it, considering The Lancers’ recent form. That remains their only defeat in five though, while Roda go in just a win better than bottom club Go Ahead Eagles. This promises to be a tight encounter, but that has been reflected in the price, and 5/4 makes them worth taking a punt on.

Fenerbahce beat Konyaspor

You won’t make much money opposing Fenerbahce these days, that’s for sure, and they stand with a recent record of five wins and four draws from their last 10. They arrive seeking a hat-trick, following wins over Osmanlispor and Alanyaspor. Opponents Konyaspor have won just two of their last 10, and 4/9 lends a hand.
