Tom Scudamore 33/1 to win both Gold Cup and Grand National

| 20.02.2017

Thistlecrack’s regular jockey Tom Scudamore is 33-1 with Coral to ride the winners of both the Gold Cup and Grand National this season, after his mount Vieux Lion Rouge swept to the head of the Aintree betting with victory at Haydock on Saturday.

“Tom already had the ride on Thistlecrack to look forward to, and following Vieux Lion Rouge’s victory at Haydock, his regular mounts now head the betting for both the Gold Cup and Grand National,” said Coral’s David Stevens.

“Having already won the King George on Thistlecrack, he’s just 33-1 to complete a famous hat-trick of wins in the season’s three biggest chases, a feat neither his granddad Micheal or dad Peter managed to complete in their own illustrious riding careers,” added Stevens.

Thistlecrack’s trainer Colin Tizzard – like Scudamore, sponsored by Coral – is 6-1 to train the first three home in the Gold Cup, while his Cue Card is 11-2 (from 6-1) for the Cheltenham race following his Ascot Chase success.

“Cue Card warmed up for the Gold Cup in style at Ascot, and Colin Tizzard now has the first three in the betting for jumping’s Blue Riband, ensuring he’s just 2-5 to send out the winner next month, and 11-10 to have the one-two,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
