Ruby Walsh favourite to beat Geraghty and co to Cheltenham Festival prize

SPORTSBOOK ODDS

Coral today opened betting on who will be top jockey at the Cheltenham Festival and make Ruby Walsh the 8/13 favourite ahead of Barry Geraghty at 5/2.

Bryan Cooper is next best at 10/1 with Coral who make Sam Twiston-Davies 12/1 with Jack Kennedy and Nico De Boinville 16/1.

The book of rides that Ruby Walsh can look forward to at Cheltenham will be missing some big-name horses, including most notably Faugheen, Annie Power and Vautour, which gives hope for some of his rivals for the Festival top jockey prize.

“For the last few years Ruby Walsh has been prohibitive odds to win the top jockey prize at Cheltenham such has been the strength and depth of his potential book of rides, but this year the battle for that prize could be much closer given the setbacks to some leading contenders in the Willie Mullins team, and the quality of horses that Barry Geraghty looks likely to ride,” said Simon Clare, Coral Spokesman.
