Ace goes at Lingfield

Wednesday’s horse racing schedule consists of meets at Doncaster, Lingfield, Ludlow, Kempton and Punchestown, as we begin to gather pace. There’s nothing like a midweek winner to put a smile on your face.

You can bet on all of Wednesday’s UK and Irish horse racing at Coral – click now to back a winner! We throw our hat into the ring with a NAP and next best at Lingfield, and if you scroll to the bottom of the page you will find a selection in every race, aimed at boosting up your multiples.

Von Blucher

Trip should suit Mike

Bet of the day for us goes on the polytrack at Lingfield where a snappy six-race schedule gets going at 2.20pm with a seven-furlong handicap. Raise The Game is the play in that particular contest, but in terms of our NAP, we are waiting it out until the penultimate race on the card, the one-mile two-furlongs apprentice handicap due to post at 4.30pm.

Daniel Loughnane sends his three-year-old gelding My Brother Mike into this with high hopes as, although he hasn’t got near winning in any of his previous three career starts, the pointers have been there and he has been improving with every go. Only sixth in a maiden around Kempton earlier this month, the effort reads much better than the bare result, as there wasn’t too much in the race at all, with a bit of a bunch finish.

That was over one-mile and the step up in trip should play to his strengths. If doing as expected, we should see a better horse over the one-mile two-furlongs and trainer Loughnane has a habit of getting winners when testing them over further. The hints are there to suggest he will go close, and I am happy to follow.

Ayr Races

Quick-fire double

By the time My Brother Mike gets started we will be hoping to land a double, if my thinking is correct, with our next best in the race before, the 3.55pm seven-furlong maiden stakes. Road To Dubai goes under the ride of Oisin Murphy, and that’s the pairing for us.

In only his third career run, the selection hasn’t been seen since finishing midway down the pack at Wolves back in November, but I believe connections have got him right during that break. The three-year-old colt is bred to go well and, if seeing a flash of his potential here, then he will take all the beating.
