Norwich beat Wigan
I thought long and hard about backing a resurgent Wigan on their own patch but, in the end, the confidence of Norwich must be trusted. The Canaries arrive having won each of their last three league starts, beating Wolves, Birmingham and Cardiff, keeping a clean-sheet in their last two. Victory here would catapult Alex Neil’s side back into the promotion play-off places and that will give a sense that they have their season back on track. Coral offer the away win at a bulky 13/10.
MK Dons beat Oldham
Robbie Neilson has improved MK since he moved south from Hearts and they go into this latest clash showing a five-match unbeaten run. That includes three wins and two draws and they’ve rattled in no less than 10 goals in their last three league starts. Oldham are down in the relegation zone, managing just three wins in their last 10. They are improving, but The Dons are more than capable of getting the win and go in at 4/5.
Morecambe beat Leyton
It’s pretty easy to take Leyton on at the minute. They are in as much trouble off the park as they are on it and look sure to be playing Non-League football next season. Danny Webb’s men have lost each of their last five, conceding 13 goals in that time. Opponents Morecambe are unbeaten in four, although three of them have ended in a draw. They have something to build on against a side devoid of confidence at 19/10. That’s well worth a crack.
Morton beat Raith
Morton were beaten by QOS at the weekend, but that was a rare loss for the Greenock side and they are more than capable of putting it behind them, winning their game in hand and going back to third in the Championship. There’s no easy games in this league but Raith have lost each of their last five, taking them from play-off contenders to a side facing relegation. 6/4 Morton.
Wycombe beat Coventry
The Sky Blues are another worth opposing in their current shape. Coventry have won just four league games all season and go into this on the back of four defeats. Their season looks dead and buried and they will be playing League Two football in the summer. Wycombe are from the level below but have confidence and can be found in the play-off places. The Shrimps have lost just one of their last 10 league starts and must be trusted vs an opponent feeling sorry for themselves. Wycombe at 19/10.
Leicester beat Derby
Leicester could probably do without the distraction of cup football as they look to keep their place in the Premier League and handle their business in the Champions League. Derby look to have blown their chance however and The Foxes should be the better side on their own patch. They will enjoy a night off from their league worries and jump in at 19/20.
