Super Sunday double

Two bets worth having in the Premier League

This week’s Premier League Super Sunday sees both halves of the Merseyside derby face-off against either side of the Manchester divide. Everton get us up and running when hosting Man City at Goodison Park from 1.30pm, before Liverpool journey to the Theatre of Dreams to settle an old score with Man Utd.

With both crunch-ties played out in front of the Sky Sports cameras, armchair fans are catered for, and our football experts look at ways punters can ensure they get a slice of the pie too. Read on as we preview both matches and offer our views on how you can make your viewing pay.

Stats support Toffees win at a sweet offer

Everton and Manchester City clash for the second time this season, after the pair played out an entertaining 1-1 draw at the Etihad back in October. The Toffees struggled to find their feet this term, but have been seen improving of late and set-up for this latest test unbeaten in three, with wins over Leicester and Southampton, while ending level with Hull.

Despite leaking 23 goals in their first 20 league starts, it was a strong rear-guard that was responsible for that mini-revival, with each of those two wins coming without conceding a goal. That ties in nicely with recent meetings between Everton and City at this venue, with only one of the teams scoring in three of the last five. Both teams not to score looks a real option, with Coral serving up a fantastic 23/20 on that outcome. That’s sure to prove popular in the pre-match picks.

Man City have struggled for consistency of late, winning four and losing three in their last seven. They went down 1-0 to Liverpool on New Year’s Eve, meaning two of their last three has seen one team score, adding weight to our earlier point. Pep Guardiola’s arrival hasn’t worked out quite as successfully as fans would have hoped, and the Spaniard already appears to be wilting under the spotlight of the famous English media. Before backing the visitors you should know that, now they have played all of the current top-seven sides once, they’ve managed only two wins.

Both teams not to score looks the smart play in this one with Coral trading 23/20, while lovers of an upset may enjoy an interest on the home win at 10/3.

Red Devils and both score a heavenly price

Strap yourself in for the 198th renewal of the North-West Derby as Man Utd and Liverpool go at it from 4.00pm at Old Trafford. One of the highlights of the season on the Premier League calendar, here at Coral we have a treasure trove of betting opportunities designed to help add to the occasion.

Manchester United have the edge in the head-to-head stats going into this one, with 79 wins against Liverpool’s 65, 53 ending level. The Red Devils have gone through a bit of a barren-spell of late however, drawing two and losing one of the last three.

They have enjoyed a much better time of it at home, losing to Liverpool only once in their last 10 visits, that same run includes eight wins, going some way to explaining why Mourinho’s side are offered as 21/20 favourites.

Liverpool are going great-guns in second-place, but they’ve failed to win three of their last seven and look a bit flimsy at the back, conceding nine goals during that time. Thankfully for boss Jurgen Klopp, his attackers have been making up for it, rattling in 16 of their own.

Fans who expect these two old rivals to have a right good go at each other will be impressed by Coral’s 4/5 on both teams to score. Not a bad price when you know it would have been a winning bet in Liverpool’s last two trips to this venue.

Both teams to score at 4/5 looks the way to play this, while both score and Man Utd to win is supported by the trends and offers the chance of a pay-day at a hefty 7/2 with Coral.
