Rumour Reel: Real Madrid want Alli as shock signing, Arsenal prepare Pjanic bid
Coral’s rumour reel
With the January transfer window now open, managers are hurriedly aiming to sort some business ahead of the remainder of the current campaign.
This includes Real Madrid and Arsenal, with both clubs looking to add players to their respective squads with new acquisitions.
So read on to find out who is going where in Coral’s rumour reel for January 3rd…
Real Madrid want Alli
Having shot to prominence in recent seasons in London with Tottenham and earning plaudits for his early England international career, midfielder Dele Alli has reportedly found himself as the focus of a stunning bid from Spanish giants Real Madrid.
The 20-year-old is the latest Spurs star to be linked with a switch to the Bernabeu and could ultimately follow in the footsteps of both former Tottenham players Luka Modric and Gareth Bale in swapping London for Madrid.
With Los Blancos still enduring a transfer ban in the current window, Zinedine Zidane’s Galacticos will therefore look to open talks in January over a possible mega-move in the summer market.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has already outlined he would take no less than £50m for his midfield star’s signature, while Real playmaker Isco could potentially also be involved in a swap deal in the coming months.
Arsenal prepare Pjanic bid
Staying in the capital, and Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal are another side supposedly aiming to strengthen as soon as possible, as they target Juventus and Bosnia and Herzegovina international midfielder Miralem Pjanic.
The Gunners are set to test the waters with a swift £28m offer in this January transfer window, as they look to bolster their central areas further in an attempt to challenge for the top-flight title.
Prior to his move to the Turin titans, Pjanic has previously been linked with a switch from Roma to the Premier League, but instead opted to continue his career on Italian soil.
The Bosnia talent signed a five-year deal with the dominant Serie A champions, meaning it would cost Arsenal the pay-out clause of his current contract, but he looks to be an ideal replacement for injured and ageing Spaniard Santi Cazorla.
