The Blues have benefited from the defensive attributes of Terry for 19 years and Antonio Conte is on the lookout for a long-term replacement in his ranks.

Boro defender Gibson is the surprise target that has reportedly been outlined by the Italian coach, with the 23-year-old being regarded as the Chelsea legend’s most natural successor. Conte is soon set to bid in excess of £30m for the defender who has been linked heavily with a senior England call-up.

The in-form Boro centre back has seen his reputation rocket due to strong showings in the Premier League this season, and he could soon be swapping the Northeast for London as Chelsea up their pursuit.

Barca, PSG and Juve keen on Lallana

After impressing for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool so far this current campaign, Anfield attacker Lallana has found himself being a surprise target for three of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Lallana has found himself as the focus of interest from European giants Barcelona and Juventus.

All of Spanish giants Barcelona, Serie A dominators Juventus and French champions PSG are reportedly keen on landing the England international, who would surely be tempted by a switch to either European juggernaut in the near future.

Lallana has two years remaining on his current deal on the red half of Merseyside but could soon see himself lining up alongside the likes of Lionel Messi or Neymar if he decides to depart his present club.

The 28-year-old has struck 10 times in 24 outings for club and country this term, with such impressive form seeing him become hot property, though Klopp will be keen to retain his services as he aims to oversee a Liverpool title challenge.
