Premier League players AFCON top scorer odds

Ahead of the fast approaching 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, Coral have picked out five forwards that currently ply their trade in the Premier League and go though their top scorer odds.

So, read on to see who we’ve gone with…

Islam Slimani (Algeria)

Slimani features among our Premier League AFCON top scorer odds.

Slimani features among our Premier League AFCON top scorer odds.

With a whopping 23 goals in just under twice the amount of games, Slimani is one of the most prolific strikers in Algeria’s history, and he has the chance to be number two on his country’s all-time list by the end of the tournament.

The Leicester City frontman has been in decent form this term for his new side, despite their lowly place in the division, so why not back him at 7/1 (second-favourite) to be leading AFCON marksman?

Sadio Mane (Senegal)

Mane is next on the AFCON top scorer list from the Premier League, at a hugely enticing 14/1 price.

Liverpool star Mane already has nine goals to his name in the top flight this term from the wing, and with 10 strikes for his nation in just 33 appearances is a great shout – even each-way (1/4 odds available for the first three top scorers).

Wilfried Bony (Ivory Coast)

Bony will be hoping to lead the line for Ivory Coast.

Bony may not have had the game-time he’d have liked for Stoke City this season, but is set to feature for the Ivory Coast as they bid to defend their title.

The African giants no longer have the likes of superstars Didier Drogba and Toure brothers Yaya and Kolo among their ranks, so Bony will be all the more important now. He is 16/1 in the top scorer market.

Riyad Mahrez (Algeria)

Slimani’s fellow (Desert) Foxes star Mahrez (25/1) will also fancy his chances with Algeria being leading marksman this tournament.

Like Bony he may may not be in the best of form, but we all know what he’s capable of as his goal tally of 17 in the league last season helped Leicester to a remarkable title triumph.

Andre Ayew (Ghana)

Andre Ayew (left) is a great price to be AFCON top scorer.

West Ham United attacker Ayew will be fit, fresh and raring to go for tournament dark horses Ghana after having yet to play a full Premier League match this season in 12 fixtures.

The son of Black Stars great Abedi Pele will hope to take his form from the previous campaign, when he managed to net 12 times for former club Swansea City.
