Marco Silva has been cut into 1-6 (from 5-4) by bookmaker Coral to be the next permanent Hull manager following a huge gamble on the former Olympiacos boss this morning. The early favourite Gary Rowett is now out to 11-4, while Alan Pardew and Harry Redknapp are both available at 8-1.

“Given the number and size of the bets we have taken on Marco Silva this morning for the Hull job, it would be a big surprise if he was not the leading candidate at this stage to replace Mike Phelan at the club,” said Coral’s John Hill.

**Next Hull manager – Coral bet
1-6 Marco Silva, 11-4 Gary Rowett, 8 Alan Pardew, Harry Redknapp, 12 Steve Bruce, Ryan Giggs, Martin O’Neill, Michael O’Neill, 14 Roy Hodgson, 18 Chris Coleman, 20 Martin Jol, 33 Roy Keane, 50 Bar
