Coral’s bet of the day

  • Liverpool are six games unbeaten in the Premier League
  • Reds possess ninth best defence in league away and have failed to keep a clean sheet in two of last three
  • Southampton scored in two of their previous three losses

Both teams score in Liverpool win at 4/1

Jurgen Klopp’s Anfield outfit will look to take a step towards the EFL Cup this evening, taking on out of form Southampton down at St Mary’s.

Liverpool come into their EFL Cup semi-final on the back of a six game unbeaten run that sees them occupy the Premier League’s second place berth. Meanwhile, Claude Puel’s struggling Saints have lost their last three by an aggregate score of 9-2.

However, Klopp’s Reds only possess the ninth best defence in the league on the road and have failed to keep a clean sheet in two of the last three. In light of this, Coral’s bet of the day takes advantage of Liverpool’s form and Southampton’s porous backline. The Reds are 4/1 to triumph with their opponents getting on the score sheet (£/€20 max stake), generous odds considering Saints have scored in two of their previous three losses.

Goals galore on south coast?

After wholesale changes for their FA Cup clash with Plymouth Argyle, Klopp is expected to field a full strength lineup – despite facing Manchester United on Sunday.

With both sides struggling for defensive consistency, could we see goals galore?

Liverpool’s formidable offensive line would strike fear into most defences. Adam Lallana in a particular man in form after netting four and assisting two in his last six PL starts for the Reds.

Thanks to this, expect the Reds to beat Saints but, with Klopp’s inconsistent and often leaky defence facing Shane Long and Jay Rodriguez, a Southampton goal looks likely.
