Five of the best from across Europe

We have a busy Friday night of football from across Europe and a £10 bet on our five-fold pays an impressive £383.40. Prices and returns are correct at the time of writing.

Leicester beat Derby

Premier League Leicester travel to Championship Derby looking to add an FA Cup run to their Champions League stretch, but the odds are dead against last season’s top-flight champions. Struggling in the league, they go to Pride Park and a hard-hitting Derby.

On paper, this looks a tough assignment, but County have lost two of their last three league starts, and won just two of their last six at the lower level. The Foxes are given a chance at a tempting 17/10 with Coral.

Aberdeen beat Dundee

The Dons are pushing hard for a second-place finish behind Celtic this season and have rivals Rangers on the backfoot. Victory on Friday would put them into the silver medal position, for a few hours at least.

Aberdeen enjoy home advantage against an opponent from the bottom-half of the table, and they hammered Dundee 3-1 in the reverse of this fixture back in September. 2/5 looks a shout.

Marseille beat Montpellier

We cast our net out to the French Ligue 1 in an attempt to catch a winner and Marseille are taken at home vs a Montpellier side down in the lower-half of the table, having failed to win any of their last three league starts.

Marseille beat the same opponent with relative ease this time last year when hosting, and they take confidence from the fact that three of their last five victories have come without conceding a goal. That backline will be tested again, but they look worth sticking in at 3/4.

Schalke look set to collect three points over Leverkusen.

Schalke can use home advantage to win

Schalke beat Frankfurt

Sticking our noses into Friday night football from the Bundesliga and home advantage should see Schalke better opponents Eintracht Frankfurt in a 7.30pm kick-off. Frankfurt are performing above expectations this season and deserve credit for the way they have handled themselves so far.

They beat Friday’s opponents earlier in the season, courtesy of a 1-0, but have found wins on the road vs Schalke thin on the ground, and have had plenty of trouble scoring against them too. Schalke have won two of their last three home ties with Frankfurt thanks to a 2-0 score and I expect something similar. 20/23 is ours.

Osasuna beat Malaga

Lastly, a competitive La Liga and Osasuna are taken to shade it against Malaga down at the wrong end of the table. The locals have very little to show for their efforts so far this season and are at the foot of the table.

Osasuna are improving however and took a point from Valencia recently. They have had no trouble finding the net, scoring seven goals in their last three starts, and if they can tighten up at the back, they’ll climb the charts. Malaga have lost each of their last four, conceding 11 goals in the process, and look devoid of confidence. It’s a big ask, but 21/10 seems worth a pop.
