Coral’s rumour reel

Coral’s Monday morning rumour reel is ready to warm readers up with some terrific transfer tales, as football gossip heats up ahead of the winter window in January. Today sees Tottenham in the frame as Joe Hart to Spurs has been mooted amid whispers of a Hugo Lloris exit.

Which other stoppers are Spurs targeting? And who is involved in an exciting West Bromwich Albion double swoop? Read on to find out…

Hart to Spurs?

Tottenham are bracing themselves for the potential departure of top post protector Lloris in the summer, with the France number one keeper reportedly coveted by elite teams PSG and Real Madrid.

Spurs could be vulnerable to a swoop for the 29-year-old after failing to progress from the Champions League group stage.

It is thought the Londoners have their eye on two English goalies as their keeper contingencies, with Manchester City-owned Hart tipped to be top of the list. Currently on loan at Torino where he is impressing, Hart would be a quick-fix but Spurs could face stiff competition for his signature by the time summer rolls around, with City likely reluctant to flog him to a rival.

Sunderland’s Jordan Pickford is believed to be the back-up option as the 22-year-old is becoming ever more high profile with his exploits in net for the Black Cats, and he would slot into Mauricio Pochettino’s approach to moulding a youthful squad at White Hart Lane.

West Brom transfers: Pulis primed for double swoop?

Elsewhere in the Premier League, Tony Pulis is supposedly planning to build on West Brom’s brilliant start to the season by buying big in January, with around £20m apparently available to splash.

Albion sit a high-flying seventh in the table and could use that momentum to entice bigger names to The Hawthorns. Morgan Schneiderlin has been singled out as the prime target for midfield, as the former Southampton man, now 27, does not seem to be in Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United plans.

Everton had been linked, but the Frenchman would be more guaranteed of game time with the Baggies. While, joining Schneiderlin at Albion could be another star with Saints links in Jay Rodriguez.

Forward Rodriguez, also 27, has been unable to claw his way back up the St Mary’s pecking order since being sidelined for a long time with a cruciate ligament injury in 2014.

With just four appearances in all competitions this campaign, but two goals from those, the Burnley-born attacker could be a bargain for the Baggies.
