Teo Vivo and Monbeg Gold among tips for Musselburgh and Newbury

Coral horse racing experts give their Musselburgh and Newbury tips for December 14, featuring Teo Vivo odds and Monbeg Gold bets to win this Thursday.
Teo Vivo odds tick all the right boxes at Musselburgh
Teo Vivo looks decent value to cash-in on a drop in the weights and land the 2m 3f handicap hurdle on today’s card at Musselbrugh (14:50).
This gelding has developed into a smart hurdler since joining Pauline Robson, winning three times and posting some solid efforts in defeat.
They include a fifth of 11 to Superb Story at Wetherby when attempting to give the subsequent winner of County Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival 4lb.
Teo Vivo also ran well at this venue when beaten just a neck by Holly Bush Henry in a hot class 3 handicap for the grade, before going one better at this track when scoring by 1 1/4 lengths off a mark of 125.
The nine-year-old was then far from disgraced when sixth of 14 in a class 2 contest at Haydock off 130 and is now able to race in this class 3 affair off 125, the same as when last successful.
It gives Teo Vivo major claims from a handicapping perspective on the pick of his form at a track which clearly suits.
Chanceofa Lifetime handicapped to strike in finale
In the 3m handicap chase that brings proceedings to a close (15:20), Chanceofa Lifetime looks weighted to get back to winning ways.
The Victor Thompson trained nine-year-old is a three-time winner over fences, and in the last of those at Sedgefield back in April scored by a head off a mark of 107.
Chanceofa Lifetime got put up to 111 for that victory and failed to finish in his next three starts.
However, there was lots to like about the gelding’s second run this season third at Market Rasen off 109. He was also far from disgraced last time out when sixth of 14 to Revocation at Newcastle in what looked a decent class 4 contest.
Chanceofa Lifetime has since been dropped a further couple of pounds in the weights and is now able to race off just 105.
That is a career-low for Chanceofa Lifetime, who won twice off a rating of 113 in 2015, and it gives him a big shout at the weights in what looks a much weaker race than the one he last contested.

Monbeg Gold bets looks profitable at Newbury
Monbeg Gold ran a race full of promise when runner-up on seasonal reappearance and looks worth a bet at the odds on offer to go one better in the 2m 7f novices’ handicap chase on today’s card at Newbury (13:30).
This gelding won his sole start in an Irish point and, after shaping well to finish runner-up on his first two starts for trainer Jonjo O’Neill, landed back-to-back successes in handicaps at Exeter.
Monbeg Gold was then far from disgraced in his final two starts of the campaign when finishing in midfield in competitive class 2 contests at Cheltenham. He looked the type that would come into his own this season when sent chasing.
That view was confirmed when he went down by just 1/2 a length to More Buck’s in a novices’ handicap at Fontwell.
The winner, to whom he was conceding 6lb, has come out and scored since at Sandown off a mark of 127 and Sartorial Elegance, who finished a further nine lengths behind in third, has since bolted-up by 18 lengths at Plumpton.
That gives the form a rock solid look and suggests the handicapper has been kind in raising Monbeg Gold just 2lb to a mark of 130.
With the stable now in much better form, and Aidan Coleman in the saddle, he looks weighted to take all the beating.
Drumacoo to deliver for in-from Pauling
Trainer Ben Pauling has his team in flying form and Drumacoo can overcome a lengthy absence to provide him with another winner in the 2m 7f graduation chase (14:00).
The gelding had some smart form to his name in 2014 when trained in Ireland by Michael Hourigan and winning three times.
Drumacoo was the on the sidelines for 412 days before making an ultra-impressive winning debut for Pauling in a novice chase at Huntingdon.
The seven-year-old jumped for fun and, after taking up the running four out, drew clear after the second last to slam Fletchers Flyer by 38 lengths.
It was a most taking performance and the runner-up went on to land a valuable handicap chase at the Punchestown Festival to give the form a strong look.
Drumacoo was then far from disgraced when fourth to the highly-regarded Vyta Du Roc in the Grade 2 Reynoldstown Chase at Ascot and looks the type who should have plenty more to offer.
He does have an absence of 298 days to overcome, but fitness is unlikely to be an issue with the yard going so well. Drumacoo also has a terrific record fresh.
